June Meeting Minutes
NEW ROSS CONSERVATION CLUB
June 20th, 2019
The New Ross Conservation Club met on June 20th, 2019
at the Clubhouse
Members present were Mike Vance, Paul Turner, George Gooding, Toad and Martha Janssen, Bob Dillan, Bill Covell.
The secretary’s report was read and approved. The treasurer’s report was read and approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
New Mower – Traded the John Deere and $200 for a used craftsman mower, its an older model just to get us by. The plan is to raise money for a new one for next year.
Pistol Shoot – We had 3 people show up for the shoot again this month. One of the contestants was a non-member that we were able to sell a membership that day.
Tree by the garage – Half of the tree by the garage fell onto the powerline, Bob called Duke and they pulled the tree from the line and repaired it. Dave McClure was able to help clear the remaining parts of the tree. Martha is going to call a few tree removal places and see how much it would cost to remove the rest of the tree before it falls on the garage.
New Business:
Kids Camp – Mike Alexander will be able to help Paul, Jeremy Johnson wants to accompany his son and help that day also. Mike called Ron Johnson with the DNR and they will be able to be there for the firearm safety class. Mike can print flyers for Martha to post around town.
Golf Scramble – Paul emailed the flyer to the gold course and they will post/forward to their golfers. Paul will start fundraising in July.
Community Service – No one has checked in for community service hours this month
Kids fishing day – scheduled for August 10th, more details to come.
Bob’s report – He has been clearing fishing spots on the south pond, cleaning up limbs, cleaned out the sheds, helped Dave move the big logs by the basement door, and is working on clearing the path around the south pond.
Martha and Toad are looking into replacing the fridge in Bob’s camper.
